Hello hello all!
I feel like I’ve been running a mental marathon over the past few weeks. People on the ether-net have been responding really positively to some of my recent articles, like the ones about podcasts and pink. Fickle Friends also re-tweeted my article about them–ahh! I’ve also gotten to collaborate with some great brands like Glass Ladder & Co., Munk Pack, Peeled Snacks, and more!
There are also more interviews and profiles in the works, I had a fabulous photo shoot that I can’t wait to share with you all, and I’ve submitted my press applications for several music festivals this summer!
Plus, I have officially hit 1k followers on all my social media platforms! Phew! It’s been a lot since I started this blog in January, and I have loved every minute of it.
In addition to all these blogging shenanigans, I’m set to graduate in just a few weeks! I got accepted into Phi Sigma Tau, the national philosophy honor society, and I’ll be graduating cum laude! Currently I’m trying to avoid procrastinating on the last few papers and projects of my undergraduate career and keep my head above water. The stress acne hasn’t quite hit me–yet.
So in short: I’ve been busy. But in some ways, that’s just the way I like it–I am a bit of a workaholic after all.
But enough about me, today I’m sharing some of the playlists that I’ve been loving as of late.
Classical Music for Metalheads by Spotify
Is it badass? Yes. Is it awesome? Hell yes. Is it a little bit nerdy? Just a tad. But this playlist is bangin. But I have to share a secret: Rite of Spring freaks me out, so I skip it each time I listen to this playlist. My man Igor didn’t have to go as hard as he did.
She Rocks by Fearless Records
I have a perpetual soft spot for female-led rock bands, and this playlist has oldies, new bops, and artists from rock to punk to alternative and back again. I love them all.
Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist by Jessie Gomez
I’m a little upset that Spotify doesn’t have the soundtrack to Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, which is an excellent film (and book) that I really need to watch again. But, luckily someone expanded on the soundtrack (oh please please find it and listen to it, it’s so good) with many more similar and loveable songs.
Emo Forever by Spotify
Hold on to your seats, because Spotify recently updated this playlist and I am living for it. Also, get ready for nostalgia because some of mine and your favorite bands on this list are going on Van’s Warped Tour’s last run. My heart, folks. My heart.
2000s Smash Hits by Filtr US
Honestly I didn’t discover good music until I was a freshman in high school, so many of the memories that come from these songs are oriented in my re-discovery of them. Like, I remember hearing “Since U Been Gone” at a middle school dance but only vaguely remember early Britney Spears. Basically, this playlist is bringing out plenty of memories that I thought I forgot.
What are you listening to that you love? Let me know in the comments or on social media!
